The BC Lung Association launched its 2nd QuitNow & WIN contest. Registrants must be tobacco-free from January 5th to February 2nd, 2010. Registrants have the opportunity to win a grand prize cruise for two to Alaska plus a $2500 gift card from West Jet, Future Shop or the Bay. There are more than 30 prizes totaling over $20,000.
It’s simple to enter. Click here or logon to the QuitNow.ca website and click on the “QuitNow & WIN” logo on the lower right hand side of the home page. To be eligible, you must have quit your tobacco use (cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chewing tobacco) on or after May 1, 2009. Registrants must also be BC residents who are 19 years or older on January 4, 2010.

I saw a clip about Jill Bolte on the CBC the other night — totally fascinating. She relates her amazing experience of having a stroke from a brain researchers point of view.
The part about loosing the function of her left-brain function was really interesting. In her right-brain she had no concept of language, time, or numbers — she felt like she lost the boundries of herself and describes a state of consciousness similar to nirvana.
I’ve had heard of similar experiences resulting from LSD.
